About Andrew

Hi! My name is Andrew. I have over a decade of experience in systems administration and engineering and have completed over 5000 total support tickets by the time I was 25 years old. Generally, I would say my expertise lies in learning new and developing technologies and adapting them for a business' needs. I have been on the leading edge of Zero-Trust implementations, focusing on a balance of cybersecurity and end user training and satisfaction.

Foundations

In my early life, I had limited resources to experience technology as I wanted. To work around this, I would use my family's old retired computers to search the web for information about how computers work, looking for as many ways to modify the machines as possible. By the time I was 16, I had already become accustomed to 6 different operating systems and countless flavors of Linux. This lead to my passion for computers. In my junior year of high school, I began learning programming. I was taught Java in high school, and used the same knowledge to teach myself python, and then scripting in PowerShell. The basics of software development allowed me to have a deeper understanding of the applications and operating systems that I work with every day. 

Military Networks

I began working in the field almost immediately after high school when I joined the United States Marine Corps. This is where my first job as a Systems Administrator began. Alongside providing basic I.T. assistance in the form of user account creations, password resets, and other Active Directory Changes, I would also work on Satellite Communications, enterprise networking, compliance, vulnerability scanning and many different implementations of Windows servers. I was honorably discharged at the rank of Sergeant.

Corporate Networks

I began working for a managed service provider immediately after his contract ended with the Marine Corps in 2021. This helped expand my experience to many different technologies that emphasized security in a fast paced environment and helped to bridge the gap between the theoretical technology he could support and practical experience. Before this, I didn't have a grasp on the software used by companies today.

Andrew's Strengths

My experience has culminated in an extreme flexibility in my work. I am the ultimate chameleon that can adapt to any situation. My experience ranges from layer 1 to layer 7 with an impressive customer service mastery. When given clear instructions, I provide impressive results in my work.
